The Train to Leiden

We stayed in Amsterdam for three nights at a hotel (the Boutique Hotel View) on Leidsekade near Leidseplein where the old road to Leiden began. But we opted to take a more modern route when we decided to visit Leiden on Tuesday, our last full day in the Netherlands: the train from Amsterdam’s Centraal Station. We didn’t have to wait for very long because about eight trains leave for Leiden every hour. The round trip fare was 15 euros for seniors and the trip took about 35 minutes. I took these photos of the Dutch countryside on the way.
