Paris 2014: Our Neighborhood, Part One

We lived in the Odeon neighborhood of Paris this spring — two blocks north of the Luxembourg Gardens and two blocks south of Boulevard Saint Germain. There are about two dozen restaurants within four blocks of our apartment and about another two dozen if you extend that radius by another two blocks. Most of these places are on or near the Blvd St Germain and we visited a lot of them during our three-week stay.

We dropped by this cafe on the boulevard one day to honor some old friends of my folks: Katz and Joe Basile and their daughter Kate Basile DuBois.

The cafe is right next to an eight-screen movie theater. Half of the movies were American. That’s an eyeglass store on the left. We came to the cafe for either a late lunch or early dinner. I think we had hamburgers.
