MM 2-42 The View from Montserrat in Monochrome

On our day-trip visit to Montserrat from Barcelona last Fall I went on a hike to an overlook called St Michael’s Cross. I was about half-way there  — about twenty minutes from the monastery — when I took this picture of the view before me. It will be my entry this week for Leanne Cole’s  Monochrome Madness Challenge.

The only portions of the monastery that can be seen in this photo are a building called Mirador dels Apostols and the adjoining car park. Restaurant Montserrat, one of two formal restaurants in the monastery, is located in this building.

I believe those are the Pyrenees mountains in the distance.

Don’t forget to wander over to Leanne’s website today to see what other photographers are doing in monochrome this week.

  1. Amy says:

The large version looks great! The landscape is well captured. 🙂

  2. This is great.
It looks a little bit like some areas of the Blue Mountains.
