MM 2-45: A High Key Look at Barcelona

For this week’s Monochrome Madness Challenge I decided to experiment with the High Key 2 Preset (# 8) of the Nik Silver Efex Pro 2 plug-in to Adobe Lightroom.  I took this photo the day last October when we toured Barcelona from a hop on/ off sightseeing bus.

We had just passed Barcelona’s major train station, Estacio de Sant, when I  came across this scene and I was fascinated by the patterns of the trees in their planters, the benches, the light poles, the seven towers, the twin buildings in the background.

See here for more photos I took on the tour bus Red Route that day, including the color version of this picture. See here for the photos I took on the Blue Route that morning. And after lunch and between bus rides we strolled down La Rambla and I took some more pictures which you can see here.  All told, I took more than 400 photos that day.

Leanne Cole is an Australian photographer who has been organizing the weekly Monochrome Madness Challenge for nearly two years. Drop by Leanne’s website to see what other photographers are doing in Monochrome these days. Leanne has a theme for the first week of each month. This month was Curves. Next month will be Straight.
