Discovering León, Part Six: More Stained Glass Windows

The León Cathedral possesses some of the finest stained glass windows in the world. I have shown some of these windows in the last few postings. Here are ten more photos of this beautiful art:

According to various sources there are either 125, 130 or 137 large stained glass windows in the cathedral. All of these sources agree that there is about 1800 square meters of glass in the cathedral, more than any other church in Spain.

There will be two more postings on León and then we’ll move on to Ponferrada.

I think they would have made good entries in the patchwork photo challenge. Gorgeous colors. Great angles.

  2. Thanks, kzmcb. I am not familiar with that challenge. What is the website?

I think this is site that Kzmcb was talking about. Every Wednesday, WP comes up a new theme.
