MM 4-28 View of Hotel Garden in Santiago

We stayed at the Smart Boutique Hotel Literario San Bieito during our three days in Santiago. My sisters stayed with their Road Scholar tour group at a hotel a couple of blocks away. We visited them one day and I took this shot of their hotel’s garden. It will be my entry for this week’s Monochrome Madness Challenge.

The garden of the Hotel Virxe da Cerca on Rua da Virxe da Cerca in Santiago de Compostela. That’s a revolving art display on the stone bench in the foreground. The figure on the right is a Galician musician playing a bagpipe. The Convent of Santa Maria de Belvis, built in the 14th century, is in the background. The garden is a floor below the hotel entrance and lobby.

The Hotel Virxe da Cerca is a charming 4-star hotel with a restaurant, coffee shop, an expansive lobby and this garden. It once was a residence for the Jesuits who taught at a nearby college. It is rated # 14 of 74 hotels in Santiago by TripAdvisor. Our hotel is rated # 13. The 5-star Parador on Praza do Obradoiro is rated # 6.

Australian photographer Leanne Cole hosts the weekly Monochrome Madness Challenge. Drop by her website on Thursday (Wednesday in North America and Europe) to see what Leanne and other photographers from all over the world are doing in monochrome these days.

I like those rocks. Might have to do something like those when we get a house.

  2. So many details! Looks good in BW

Stunning. I think you’ll have to put together a B&W calendar for your family and friends.
